Day 10 - Wednesday

Wednesday – Welcome to the Jungle

Fried English breakfast in the Smugglers Inn. Nothing like you'd find in Ireland. Supposedly the locals feed their pigs fish and the bacon tastes a tad... well do I have to say?

Visited the local temple. Pretty cool to see.

Five of us headed to Cantiago Wildlife Park. Frenchie and all of us accept Aidan.

The guy Contiago stated we were the first people he had seen in two months. Entry fees for a camera is 250rps, so we hide two of them.

We see monkeys in the trees after five minutes down the road.

Road is pretty hazardous.

Walk to the tree house and climb over 80ft. Ian is not impressed although eats his fear and does the climb.

Wait patiently in near silence for one hour to see the face of one monkey.

Walk back in the rain.

Drive for another 3km then turn around to head back 10km.

See a King Cobra, 3 Pythons a few deer, a dog and glimpse some form of eagle.

Eoghan plays with the Cobra, who isn't too impressed and lashes out. Twice. Thankfully there's a steel fence between them. Probably better for the snake, after Eoghan stating he'd love to give the snake a go at wrestling.

Stop in small village upon our return to get something to eat. Myself Ian and Peter decline, seeing the condition of the food stand that Eoghan chooses. Especially after noticing the swarm of flies that were making a lunch of the bread that were being used for the sandwiches. Greg joined in and ate along happily with the mad Cork man.

I had noticed a restaurant on the outskirts of the village on our return called Cleopatra, so we agreed to try this one tonight.

We had an Indian gentlemen dressed quite like a Garda, who facilitated the pool table. This involved taking the money and brushing insects from it when necessary. The food was tasty and a reasonable price.

Upon our return we handed back the bikes. Eoghan was distraught after getting so fond of his baby. Cocktails and Dreams
